UDOT's Lane Gain Project Through Kaysville
Wednesday, March 19, 2008 - 01:08 AM
On March 17, 2008 UDOT began work on I-15 to widen the freeway between State Street in Farmington and the south Layton interchange (Exit 330).
This project will widen the existing center median to accommodate new travel lanes, one in each direction.
During construction, three travel lanes will be maintained in each direction during peak traffic hours. Lane restrictions will be necessary during night-time and off-peak hours to expedite construction. Work is scheduled to be completed Fall 2008 and will coincide with the opening of the Legacy Parkway.
Lane closures along 200 North from I-15 to 400 West are possible intermittently for utility work.
A noise analysis study was conducted along the entire project corridor in 2007 to determine potential noise impacts associated with the lane addition. Several areas in Kaysville met UDOT requirements to receive noise walls. Those areas are:
East side of I-15 between 200 North and the USU Botanical Gardens.
East side of I-15 between Burton Lane and Shepard Lane.
