Hi!  I'm Dave Adams.  I grew up in Fruit Heights.  I went to Davis High and graduated in the class of 97.  From there I continued my education at Weber State University where I graduated with a Bachelors in Technical Sales.  My work background has been in the construction industry, primarily home building and excavation.  My wife Ann grew up in Kaysville and graduated from Davis High also. We have three boys, Daxden, Deaken and Dawsen, and have lived in Kaysville now for the past six years.  Kaysville is a great place to live and raise a family and it's an exciting opportunity to potentially have a part in continuing the great values that Kaysville has been founded upon.  I believe that hard work and effort are important to surviving in today's world whether it be personally or as a whole community.  One of the qualities of a great city are the people who reside there and the effort, service and time they give to that community.  Kaysville is full of people like this.  Equally important are the desires and concerns that the citizens of any great community have and I think it's important for those voices to be heard.

As a young man, I was raised in poverty by my mother on the east coast. I learned early in life to work hard.  I first came to Utah in 1999 with two military duffle bags and a little bit of money. After returning home from an LDS mission to San Diego, I met my wife Erika while studying Construction Management and Business at BYU. We've now been happily married for 10 years and have two energetic daughters whom we love and enjoy.  As a Project Manager for Okland Construction, I've had the unique opportunity to manage numerous landmark construction projects like Richard's Court at City Creek and the Huntsman Cancer Hospital expansion. Additionally, I've earned several industry certifications and awards.  I also currently work as an Adjunct Professor at Salt Lake Community College.  I recently completed the St. George Ironman and enjoy several outdoor sports. As an adopted son of Kaysville, I'm excited to support and contribute to our hometown.  I believe that service to our country and community should be considered by all.  Looking at the challenges our community currently faces, I feel that I have a unique perspective and background that could contribute to improving our city.

I was born in west Layton and grew up working and living on my grandparent's dairy farm from a young age.  It was a great lifestyle and the daily farm chores instilled in me the importance of hard work and responsibility.  After graduation from Layton High and serving my church for two years, I studied Finance at Weber State.  It was there I met my wife Ronda Johnson of Kaysville and we have been married for 38 years and have lived in Kaysville for 33 years.  We have four children who all graduated from Davis High School and we currently have five grandchildren.  I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, hiking, and discovering new things.  Profesionally I have been a self-made business owner primarily in construction.  I started my first successful company in 1981 and I have since started and operated businesses in transportation, retail, and real estate.  Throughout the years, I have employed over 700 people and I have the experience and attitude to solve problems and get things done.  I am running for City Council to provide a common sense voice for concerns of Kaysville citizens.

My wife Carolyn and I moved to Kaysville after I graduated with a Masters in Computer Science from BYU in 1989.  Shortly after moving to Kaysville, Carolyn created a puppet design and manufacturing business.  I took care of the legal, payroll, and financial aspects of the business.  We built a store on 200 North called the Puppetorium in 1996 and after 4 short years, the business outgrew the building and we built a larger building in the Business Park.  We have five children and the grandchildren are trickling in.  I have been a software developer, architect, and system administrator, and entrepreneur for the past 25 years and currently work as a senior software engineer for a local company.  I am currently on a HOA board and have done treasurer work there.  I understand numbers and policy and can objectively determine the efficacy and equity of both. My experience in working with divisive issues and being able to have cordial constructive conversation with both sides of those issues will be beneficial as a city council member.  I am running for office with you in mind.  My agenda is to first listen, understand concerns, and to act equitably.

My name is Jake Garn.  My wife Sharon and I have seven children and four grandchildren. Five of our children have graduated from Davis High. Our family has lived in Kaysville for 29 years.  We love this community and the exceptional and kind people who live here.  I'm honored to be serving on the Kaysville Planning Commission and enjoy working with Kaysville residents on planning and land use issues. Professionally, I'm a CPA and currently serve as Utah's Chief Financial Examiner for Insurance Companies.  I'm chair of the financial reports working group of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.  We deal with complex and often controversial issues. I enjoy listening to different perspectives from all interested persons and then moving the work forward to solutions. If elected as a member of the City Council, I'd like to use my financial and leadership experience to help make a difference and give back to our community. I'm asking for your support and your vote so together we can make Kaysville an even better place to live.

I was raised in Kaysville.  I attended Burton Elementary, Kaysville Jr. High and Davis High School.  I am married to my perfect friend, Jenny. We have 3 children - Caeldton, Rieley and Taylor.  I attended the University of Utah.  I worked for financial institutions for most of my career in human resource systems.  I am currently the Director of Human Resource Services for Progrexion in Salt Lake City.  I started my city service as a planning commissioner in 2009.  I was then appointed to the City Council in January 2011 to fill the remaining term of Council Member Ally Isom when she resigned to join Governor Gary Herbert's office.  I was elected to a full Council term in November 2011.  I've been taught and truly believe that if you expect to be able to vote for someone with the same values, beliefs and priorities as you, you should take your turn in public service.  This is my motivation to run for re-election on the Kaysville City Council.
