Department Mission

The mission "TO PROTECT AND SERVE" states the essential purpose of the Kaysville Police Department. The department PROTECTS the right of all persons within its jurisdiction to be free of criminal attack, to be secure in their possessions, and to live in peace. The department SERVES the people of Kaysville in a professional manner, and it is to these people that the police department is ultimately responsible.

Important Information

ICE- Emergency Contact Information On Your Cell Phone: ICE. In Case of Emergency, in your cell phone directory or contacts you can add the term "ICE" to one of your contacts.  You should notify that person that you have listed them as an "ICE" contact and that in an emergency they may be contacted by police or medical personnel.  You contact person(s) should have some information about your medical conditions.  In the event that your are incapacitated or unable to respond to emergency personnel, they can contact your ICE contact who can give some background information.  So your contact shows up at the beginning of your list you can enter their name with a "1, 0 (zero) or A" then a space with their name.

Door To Door Solicitors are allowed in Kaysville City after applying and obtaining a solicitors license effective September 1st, 2006.   If a person(s) come to your door selling products or services they need to have the Kaysville City Solictors photo ID dispalayed or produce it when requested by a occupant of the home.  If they are rude or disorderly, please ask them to leave and call the police.  If you do not want solicitors, you can place a "NO SOLICITATION SIGN" at your front door. Information about obtaining a door to door solicitors license can be obtained at the Kaysville City Building, 23 East Center Street. Phone 801-546-1241.

Never allow a stranger into your home. If someone approaches you door and informs you that they are with a certain company (gas, water, telephone, cable TV, etc.) request to see their company picture ID card. Teach your children these safety tips. Call the police if your observe suspicous persons or activities.

Street Parking in Kaysville is regulated. The City does not allow parking of trailers, RV's or boats on City streets. Extended parking of these types of vehicles creates many hazards and is unsightly. Please be a courteous neighbor and a responsible citizen and park the type of vehicles mentioned above on your own property. Trailers, RV's and boats parked on City streets will be either impounded and or given a citation.

Overnight Parking Restrictions to assist in snow removal are in effect between November 1 to March 1 between 12:00 - 06:00 A.M. Any vehicle parked on the streets during this time will be issued a citation regardless of whether it snows or not.

Highly visible house numbers are extremely benefical in shortening response time for emergeny help!  A well placed, highly visible, identifying house number can shorten the time for the police or fire department to get to the scene of an emergency. Put your house number where it can easily be found and seen from the street.

Fingerprints are done for Kaysville City residents and persons who are employed in Kaysville City. Fingerprints are done on: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 09:00 AM to 12:30 PM. only  at the Kaysville Police Station. There is a $5.00 charge for up to three fingerprint cards and $5.00 for each additional card.

Kaysville Police Reports.  Citizen(s) may request a copy of a police report. A request form must  be filled out and approved by police administration before  police reports are released.  After approval from police administration, a copy of a police report may be obtained. There is a fee of $5.00 for each police report.

Kaysville City Curfew Ordinance states that all persons under 18 years are not allowed on the public streets or public places between the hours of midnight and 5:00 A.M. daily. Exceptions to the ordinance are when the underage person is accompanied by a parent or adult guardian, when returning from a legitimate school, civic or church function, or when travelling to or from legitimate employment.

Hunting in Kaysville is no longer allowed. Because of the growth and building of homes in the western areas of the City, it is no longer safe to discharge firearms for hunting or any other purpose.
