Look Who is Serving
In July 2011, I was crowned Miss Kaysville/Fruit Heights. After spending a year serving the community and making some of my dearest friends. I stepped down as the Miss and took over as Director. I was only 20 years old when I filled the spot as Director. The spot was open and I was ready to take on the challenge. I thought that being the Director would be a wonderful opportunity for me to grow and learn how events truly work. I felt that because I was the Miss, I had the perspective that was needed to take the pageant further and really connect with the girls. Through my time as director I was also working and attending Weber State University for a Marketing degree. I really love working with people and truly learning from them. I believe that everyone has something to offer and to teach you if we as the recipient are willing to be open and listen. I learned to speak with confidence and passion, to keep my composure and be respectful, to truly see another person’s perspective, to have confidence within myself, to serve with a good heart and to be an example to others. I am thankful the hard work and late nights that the pageant gave me. I was able to grow so much and truly understand my passions in life. I was able to gain perspective on my career path and my hobbies. I have always loved marketing and events and that is what I chose to major in. I now work at an advertising agency and I love it! I have a background in my work of events and planning. Through my time of being involved in the pageant I was able to truly come to know and love so many people. I am close to members of the community and cherish the friendships that I have made. I am thankful for the events that I was involved in and the ones that I planned. I was given years of experience to work in a field that I love. I enjoyed just about every minute of it. I was able to learn that committees are important and that you always need back up plans a-z. This town has given me so much growing up but I think the sweetest gift has been my time with the pageant. I am grateful and humbled that I was able to have the job. My heart is full and I feel fortunate to be a part of this magical town. Thank you to all who supported and worked with me. I am very fond of you all.
