Invitation to Submit Arguments For or Against Ballot Proposition for the Special Bond Election

Authorization for the Kaysville Municipal Fiber Bond and Project

The Davis County General Election Ballot for the November 3, 2020 election, which will include a special bond election to read as follows:

“Shall the City Council (the “Council”) of Kaysville City, Utah (the “City”), be authorized to acquire, construct, own and operate a municipal fiber network and to finance the costs thereof with a revenue bond obligation backed by Sales and Franchise Taxes, but for which no property taxes will be pledged (collectively, the “Kaysville Municipal Fiber Project”) in a principal amount not to exceed Twenty-Two Million Dollars ($22,000,000) and mature not more than 30 years from the date of issuance of the bonds?

Any eligible voter may request to submit an argument for or against the special bond election in accordance with Utah State Code 20A-7-402. Requests to submit an argument must be filed with the election officer no later than August 31, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. Requests may be submitted at the Kaysville City Offices (temporarily located in the Kaysville Police Department) at 80 North Main Street, Kaysville, UT, or emailed to mailbox@kaysvillecity.com.
